Reminders:

• The FINAL due date for both the application and teacher recommendations is Due Jan. 27th 2022 for 7th grade. Applications and data will be merged and sent to schools the following week.
• **Students can only submit ONE application and must complete it all in one sitting. We suggest typing responses in a word document then pasting into the appplication. **
• Students are responsible for asking their selected teachers to complete the recommendation. They can use the link below and send it via email. Attached is a format they could use to solicit those responses from their teachers.
• AVID 6 will NOT be included in this application. Brooks may implement AVID 6, so recruitment will take place in the fall and the class will begin spring 2022.

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination! We have two AVID Elective classes that are centered around helping students become high school ready and college aware. Everything we do in AVID is focused on what we call WICOR. Students who excel in these areas are more likely to be high school and college ready!

C - Collaboration (working together)

O - Organization

R – Reading

In addition we go on college field trips and have guest speakers come in to talk about their careers. Recruitment and applications for the AVID Elective classes happen in the spring. Please watch the website for more information regarding applications.
