    AVID is a program for 7th & 8th grade students designed to support students in taking advanced level academic courses. Students are selected through an application and interview process. Once accepted into the program, students take AVID as an elective class that provides peer support, college awareness activities, academic tutorials and skill development in organization, collaboration, and leadership.

     

    Are you motivated to do well in school?
    • Do you have good behavior and attendance?
    • Do you have average to high test scores?
    • Do you have at least a 2.5 GPA?
    • Do you have a desire to go to college?

    Requirements for students in AVID:
    • Must apply, interview, and be selected into the AVID program
    • Must take AVID Elective class while in AVID program
    • Actively participate in weekly tutorials
    • Must take rigorous course work including Honors and AP courses
    • Must maintain GPA, attendance, and behavior requirements
    • Must maintain an AVID binder and take Cornell notes in all classes
    • Must meet citizenship and community service requirements
