Hello! My name is Ms. Tilton. I am the principal of Black Traditional Magnet.
I grew up in College Hill here in Wichita. I am one of eight children. I’m 3rd oldest. I attended Hyde Elementary, Robinson Jr. High, and Kapaun Mt. Carmel. I received my undergraduate degrees from KU and WSU. I have two Master degrees both from WSU one in Curriculum and Instruction and the other in Administration and Supervision.
Teaching and Administration Experience
I have been in USD 259 for 29 years. I was at Beech Elementary for 15 years, nine years as a 4th grade teacher (3rd/4th, 4th/5th, and 4th grade) and six years as an assistant principal. I was assistant principal at Anderson Elementary for three years as and at Allen Elementary for one year. This will be my eleventh year as principal at Black Traditional Magnet.

How do I do spend my free time?
In my free time I like to travel. I usually visit family in Dallas, TX; Pullman, WA; Greenville, MS; and Phoenix, AZ. You may also find me at the YMCA. I like to do circuit and yoga. I like to walk in the early morning or in the evening. In November each year I follow KU and WSU basketball. In the Spring I like to watch the Shockers' baseball games. I also like to spend time with family. I have 10 nieces and 13 nephews. This summer I spent time in Dallas and Greenville, MS.
