• Just as this nation celebrates the diversity of it’s citizens, artists, and musicians, Jefferson Elementary celebrates the diversity of our students.  Our Jefferson dance troupe has been performing for schools, celebrations, and city events for several years.  We have performed at schools, Cinco De Mayo celebrations, Wingnuts games, and the River Festival. Most of our dance troupe members are in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.  However, we have some 1st and 2nd graders in our Asian dances. Our students work really hard to get ready for performances.  They must be in good standing in the classroom as well as keeping their behavior in check. They practice their dances during lunch recess and if they are in more than one dance they give up most of their lunch recess during the week.  Some of the dances start practicing in October.  Dance troupe is a big commitment for our students and staff and is a source of pride for our school and community.
