Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Dodge Literacy Magnet.

My name is Michelle Wilkes, and I am your Principal.  I am excited to start my sixth year at Dodge Literacy Magnet, where we are striving to empower our students to be amazing human beings both in and out of school. 

I am a native of Wichita and a proud graduate of the Wichita Public Schools.  This year is the beginning of my 33rd year in the Wichita Public School system and my twelfth year as a Principal. 

I am a devoted Kansas State University alumnus (GO CATS!) who loves football, baseball, and ice hockey.  My favorite food is Mexican food; I LOVE TACOS! I enjoy reading historical fiction and traveling with family and friends in my spare time. 

I am passionate about student learning and high-quality teaching.  I hope you will join me in raising the bar for your student.  I want all of our Dodge Literacy Magnet students to come to school, every day, work hard, learn as much as possible, and be safe while doing it.

I want to empower my students to believe in their potential and work hard to make strides in achieving that potential. Thank you for sharing your student with me. Together, we are going to make this your student's best year yet!
