A crew from Russell-Marti Conservation Services Inc., put a fresh coat of wax on the Tom Otterness sculpture “Millipede” on the Wichita State campus on Thursday. Workers from Russell-Marti, out of California, Missouri, come to campus twice a year to care for the school's extensive outdoor sculpture collection.

Kelly Frederick, LMS
Hi, I'm Kelly Frederick, and I'm thrilled to be the Library Media Specialist at Mayberry.
I am married to Doug, a nurse practitioner, and have two wonderful daughters: Ali, a photographer who lives in Los Angeles with her husband Seth, and Claire, who teaches physics at North High. I love reading and the outdoors, biking and hiking, art and animals, and driving Spud, my mellow yellow Volkswagen bug convertible.
I've been teaching for 34 years (29 at North High, 2 here at Mayberry), mostly English and math, and I am an AVID staff developer and an AVID site coordinator at Mayberry. I graduated an AVID elective class in 2016, and I miss seeing my AVID babies every day.
Mayberry students are challenged to Discover Wichita!
Mayberry is a Cultural and Fine Arts Magnet, but what do YOU know about the culture and fine arts of this place we call home? Take the challenge! Take a selfie and Tweet it to @MayberryLMC and @MayberryMMS, #DiscoverICT, email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, or add it to our Wichita Culture Challenge Photo Circle, then come into the LMC to pick up a button to commemorate your fun.
Fall Spotlight: Public Art
Public art is art in open, public spaces that can be seen for free any time, any day. Wichita is filled with public art, particularly in the downtown areas. You could take a selfie with a bronze sculpture at Douglas and Main, or a mural on the side of a building in the Avenue Arts District east of Old Town on Douglas. And don't forget the Keeper of the Plains at the confluence of the Arkansas and Little Arkansas Rivers. It's fall in ICT, perfect weather to check out the Public Art!
