United Teachers of Wichita
“The United Teachers of Wichita is honored to support the great work United Way of the Plains does for the people of Wichita.
The United Way funded agencies have consistently assisted teachers and other school district employees during unfortunate circumstances. Often, this help has been life saving for the employee and their family. In addition, many agencies and programs funded by United Way give much needed support directly to our students for a brighter future.
We strongly encourage teachers and all employees of USD 259 to contribute whatever they can to United Way of the Plains. We also encourage any employee facing difficult times to contact United Way for assistance.”

“During times of economic uncertainty, many of us who thought we would never need assistance have found ourselves reaching out to the United Way. Sometimes it’s to help keep the power on and other times it’s a box of food or just a friendly voice on the other end of the line. Regardless of how you have helped or have been helped by the United Way, it is an organization that is for everyone and that can be contributed to by anyone.
We all believe in certain universal truths. One of those is that those who have should help those who don’t. Giving what you can to the United Way will give you the positive feeling that you were able to help someone else through your contribution. It really doesn’t take a lot; just a dollar or two from every paycheck could make a huge difference in the lives of someone in your community.
From dental clinics to literacy programs for young children that encourage your neighborhood children to develop a love for reading and more, if the United way is involved you can be assured that something positive is happening. Please donate to the United Way today.
