The JROTC program at South High School greatly complements the school’s curricular and overall educational programs.  JROTC offers students a unique opportunity for personal growth.  Our mission is to motivate young people to be the best American citizens they can be by teaching them how to succeed.  In fact, much of our teaching isn’t teaching at all.  It’s training.  We train cadets for leadership, teamwork, responsibility, character, to communicate effectively, to be physically fit, and to take pride in themselves and their community.
