- What is Circle of Friends?

Circle of Friends is a peer mentoring program created by The Arc of Sedgwick County. It establishes relationships between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers through inclusvie, meaningful participation in activities that take place on and off campus. There is currently over 46 active programs in Sedgwick County and the surrounding area with about 2,300 participating students. There is no other program like Circle of Friends that aims to subbort both special education and regular education students by fostering acceptance, understanding, and friendship. The school benefits from an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding. Students gain skills, new friends, and a new apprciation of classmates with different ability levels.
