Ms. Laura Almquist-Parks

Ms. Parks is a Success Coach and Behavior Specialist at Coleman. She does many different things to help our students be successful, including teaching mindfulness, sponsoring clubs, responding to crises, conducting counseling groups, mediating peer conflicts with restorative practices, and individual counseling. Her goal is to help all Coleman students learn how to manage their emotions and make positive behavior choices, so they can be as happy, healthy, and productive as possible.

Mrs. Keller is one of the School Counselors. She supports both students and staff here at Coleman Middle School by assisting with their Social-Emotional well-being. She also assists with the accurate placing of students in the correct core, intervention, and exploratory classes. Mrs. Potts is a SPED Admin Liaison. She helps support our Special Education students and teachers. She has been in education for 16 years. Mrs. Erickson is the school psychologist at Coleman. She serves on the Child Study Team and special education. She performs evaluations and reevaluation assessments and reporting, as well as social/emotional counseling.

Pam is the School Nurse. The focus of the school nurse is on disease prevention, health surveillance and health education to enable students to remain in the classroom, healthy and able to learn. "As a School Nurse, I serve as a liaison between school, parents, and health care providers regarding health issues. I design and monitor plans for management of students' health concerns and maintain records for students with known health concerns. I am part of the Child Study Team, and part of the Student 504 Team. I must review all medications, including over-the-counter medications administered in a school setting, prior to administration. I also screen vision and hearing of students in scheduled grade levels, and as needed if there is a concern. Additionally, I must report certain communicable diseases to the Sedgwick County Health Department, follow up on animal bites and scratches, monitor the progress of pregnant students, and serve as a resource for health education." - Shannan Grilliot

Mr. Hankins is the Social Worker at Coleman. He connects students and families with community resources. He assists students with uniforms, school supplies, weekend food bags, special education needs, and one-on-one connections in order to help each student to be his or her best self each day.

Mrs. Renfro is our Data Leader & Site Technology Specialist. She helps teachers learn how to access student data, interpret student data, organize and monitor student testing, train teachers about technology, support students and teachers with technology issues, and repair or send devices out for repair as needed.
