Student Dress Code

    BOE Policy P1473: Standardized Dress Code-Regulations:

    Lanyards/With ID:

     Allison Lanyards ONLY with ID card must be worn at all times around the neck.

     ID/Lanyard must be on at the start of 1st hour; detentions will be assigned automatically if not. Phone call will be made only to alert parent/guardian of the assigned detention, not to have parent/guardian bring the missing ID.

     The following items are allowed to be attached to the lanyard:

    o Zip drives

    o House key

    o Honor Roll tags

     The following items may not be clipped, hung or stuck on or to lanyard/ID. These items include but are not limited to:

    o Stickers

    o Bands

    o Hand sanitizers

    o Toys

     ID cards must be replaced if lost or if the picture/barcode is defaced.

     Replacement fees:

    o $3.00 ID Card

    o $2.00 Lanyard

    Tops:

    Shirts and Blouses-

    o Must be solid white or navy blue color only

    o Must have collar and sleeves

    o May be short or long sleeved

    o Must be tucked in at all times

    o ONLY Allison Logo allowed

    Undershirts

    o A short or long-sleeved shirt maybe worn under a collared dress code top

    o Must be white or navy blue color only

    o Must be tucked in at all times

    o T-Shirt material only

    o Thermal and long underwear is not allowed.

     

    Crewneck sweaters or sweatshirts, Sweater vests, Cardigans

    o Must be ash gray or navy blue only

    o No hoods, hoodies, or zippers

    o ONLY Allison Logo is allowed

    o Collared top is required to be worn under a sweater, sweatshirt, vest or cardigan

    o Long cardigan sweaters are not allowed

    Spirit Shirts/Allison Group T-Shirts:

    o 25 Book Campaign T-Shirt can be worn any day, and must be tucked in.

    o Spirit/Allison Group T-Shirts may be worn on designated school activity days such as athletic events, NAL, Band, Orchestra, and/or Choir. Worn as a top shirt only with undershirt allowed.

    o Spirit/Allison Group T-shirts may be worn on FRIDAYS!! (Athletics, NAL, Band, Orchestra, Choir, Yearbook, StuCo, Art Club, 25 Book Campaign, AVID, etc.)

    o Worn as top shirt only with undershirt allowed

    o May not be worn under a sweatshirt, sweater, sweater vest or cardigan.

    o Must be tucked in.

    BOTTOMS:

    Pants, Capris, Shorts, Skirts, Skorts, and Jumpers:

    o Cotton twill fabric in a solid khaki or navy blue color.

    o Must be tailored, neither too tight nor too baggy.

    o Must be worn at the waist.

    o Belts are required if there are belt loops. Scarves and ties are not belts.

    o Cargo pants/shorts are allowed

    o Logos/labels must not be any larger than one inch in size located on the waist band only.

    o NOT ALLOWED:

    NO ROLLING AT LEG OPENING

    NO CUFFS

    NO HOLES, RIPS, FRAYED EDGES

    NO "JOGGER" STYLE PANTS OR PANTS BANDED AT THE ANKLE

    NO STRETCH PANTS

    NO SWEATPANTS/ATHLETIC PANTS

    NO DEMIN OR DENIM LOOK ALIKE. NO DENIM LEGGINGS/ ‘JEGGINGS’

    NO PAJAMA BOTTOMS

    Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers will be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee.

    Capri/Ankle leggings worn under skirts/jumpers in solid navy blue or solid white only.

    SHOES and SOCKS:

     Shoes are required. A tie shoe for tread, stability, and safety is recommended.

     Open-toe shoes, open-back shoes, flip flops, slippers or house shoes are not allowed.

     Boots may be worn with long pants, skirts & jumpers only.

     Boots worn with pants must be covered by the pant leg.

     Socks that are visible (including ankle socks, knee socks, or tights)

    o Same solid color- White, Black or Navy Blue

     

    HAIR:

    Hairstyle needs to be evenly distributed in look, color and length.

     Extreme Hair- cut, style or color is NOT ALLOWED.

     Mowhawks, faux hawks, designs/lines/patterns are not allowed

     Lines/designs cut into eyebrows are not allowed

     Hair must be natural in color

     Colors not allowed-blue, purple, pink, green, red, etc.

     Kool-aid powder, temporary dyes or artificial colors are not allowed to be put or woven into hair.

    HAIR ACCESSORIES:

    Headbands will be allowed.

    o No Bandana fabric/design

    o No Letters

    o No Logos

    o No Numbers

    o No Words

    Bandanas of any color are not to be worn or brought to school

    Do rags of any color are not to be worn or brought to school.

    Tattoo’s and Piercings:

     NO TATTOO’s-- not even temporary!!

    Piercings may be worn in the ear only.

    o No larger than a single wire or post.

    o No gauges

    General Expectations for Dress Code, Jeans Day, and Dress Down Days:

     Coats, jackets, hooded tops/hoodies, backpacks and purses are to be kept in lockers during the school day.

     NO BLANKETS

     Hats, sunglasses, armbands, sweatbands, and gloves are to be kept in lockers during the school day.

     Bandanas of any color are not to be worn or brought to school.

    Writing/marking on self or others, or writing/marking on own clothing or other’s clothing is not allowed.

    Clothing, buttons, jewelry, or other items which contain vulgar words or pictures, or identify/promote alcohol, tobacco, illegal substances, weapons, or sexual content are not allowed.
