Black Traditional Magnet
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored shirts in “flag” red, white, or navy blue, with polo or oxford collars and no logos, pictures, or writing—except for BTM logos on spirit shirts. Bottoms must be navy blue, khaki (tan), or black slacks, and may include tailored shorts, skorts, skirts, capris, or jumpers that are longer than mid-thigh. Layering items such as sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, turtlenecks, and vests must also be in dress code colors, and hoods must remain off during school hours.
Fit and Length Requirements: All clothing must be properly sized to fit the student appropriately. Shorts, skirts, and similar items must be longer than mid-thigh. Leggings or tights are only permitted under skirts, skorts, or jumpers and must be in dress code colors—navy blue, khaki, or black. Clothing that is excessively torn or ripped is not allowed.
Layering and Outerwear: Students may wear solid-colored sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, turtlenecks, and vests in dress code colors over their uniform shirts. Hoods must remain down while inside the school building. These items must not have inappropriate designs or logos, and layering must comply with the overall dress code.
Footwear and Accessories: Shoes must be closed-toe and closed-heel, with tennis shoes being the preferred option. Flip-flops, slides, Crocs, sandals, and heelies are not allowed. While students may choose their sock color, socks must not feature inappropriate designs. Hats and caps are not permitted, though religious headgear is allowed for religious purposes only.
School Spirit and Exceptions: BTM spirit t-shirts and sweatshirts with the school logo may be worn with uniform pants any day of the week. On “Think College Thursday,” students may wear college shirts or sweatshirts with uniform pants, though jerseys are not allowed. Free dress days may be designated by the principal, and student attire on those days must still comply with the district’s non-standard dress code policy.
Bostic Traditional Magnet
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid white or red shirts and blouses with collars and no embellishments. Only the Bostic logo is allowed on tops, including sweatshirts, which must be solid white, navy blue, or red. Sweaters, sweater vests, and cardigans must also be solid red, white, or navy blue, with no patterns, emblems, or labels. Turtlenecks may only be worn under sweatshirts or jumpers and not alone or under short-sleeved shirts. Bottoms must be solid navy blue and tailored—not too tight or baggy—and worn at the waist. Jeans, sweats, corduroys, leggings, capris, cargo pants, and similar items are not allowed. Leggings may not be worn under skirts or jumpers.
Fit and Length Requirements: Clothing must be appropriately sized to fit the student. Skirts, skorts, and shorts must fall midway between the knee and hip. Belts should not detract from the learning environment. All clothing must be neat and worn properly to maintain a respectful and distraction-free appearance.
Layering and Outerwear: Sweatshirts and sweaters must be worn over a collared shirt and must follow the approved solid color guidelines. No hoods or hoodies are allowed on any outerwear. Turtlenecks are permitted only as underlayers beneath sweatshirts or jumpers.
Footwear and Accessories: Shoes must have a backing over the heel, and kindergarten students may not wear shoes or boots that tie. Tennis shoes or flats are recommended, and flip-flops are not allowed for safety reasons. Socks must be solid white, red, black, or navy blue with no logos or branding visible above the shoe. Tights must also be solid white, red, or navy blue and may not be footless or resemble leggings. Hair accessories must not distract from the learning environment—items like cat ears or unicorn horns are not permitted. Tattoos, including temporary ones, and makeup are not allowed.
School Spirit and Exceptions: Spirit shirts may be worn with uniform bottoms on the last Friday of each month. Scout uniforms are allowed on scout meeting days.
Colvin
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored short or long sleeve polo shirts in navy blue, hunter green, or white. Crewneck sweatshirts and sweaters are also acceptable in solid navy blue or hunter green. Pants, skirts, and jumpers must be solid navy blue or khaki. Logos, pictures, or writing on clothing are not permitted. Denim and T-shirts are not allowed as part of the standardized dress code. Reasonable flexibility in style, cut, and fabric is permitted as long as it aligns with the color and design requirements. A collared polo dirt must be worn underneath jumpers.
Fit and Length Requirements: Clothing must be properly sized to fit the student. Tights and leggings may only be worn under skirts and jumpers and must be solid white, black, hunter green, or navy blue.
Footwear and Accessories: Hats are prohibited.
School Spirit and Exceptions: Tops with the Colvin name or logo may be worn. Free dress days may be designated by the building principal, but student attire on those days must still comply with the district’s non-standard dress code policy (P1475).
Horace Mann Dual Language Magnet (K-8)
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored tops in red, white, royal blue, navy blue, or black. Tops must have sleeves and collars, except for spirit shirts which are allowed daily. Bottoms must be plain khaki or navy blue and may include pants, slacks, shorts, skorts, skirts, and jumpers. Logos, distressed materials, denim, sweats, leggings, jeggings, and oversized bottoms are not allowed. Solid school-colored sweatshirts, vests, or sweaters may be worn over dress code-compliant shirts, and hoodies must have the hood completely down.
Fit and Length Requirements: Bottoms must cover the upper thigh and cannot be longer than the top of the shoe sole. Shirts must be long enough to cover skin at all times during school hours. Belts must not hang from the side. Clothing must not be extremely oversized or baggy.
Footwear and Accessories: Shoes with rubber soles must be worn at all times for safety. Hats, suspenders, and other accessories are not permitted. Undershirts, tights, and socks above the ankle must be solid school colors. Bags and purses must be kept in lockers throughout the day.
School Spirit and Exceptions: Horace Mann spirit shirts are allowed daily. Free dress days may be designated by the principal and include casual dress-down days, Spirit Weeks, and athletic dress-downs. All attire on these days must still comply with district policy P1475.
Isely Traditional Magnet (K-8)
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored tops in ‘flag’ red, white, or navy blue. Acceptable styles include long or short-sleeved polo or oxford shirts with collars, or Isely spirit T-shirts. College T-shirts may be worn with uniform pants on Thursdays as part of “Think College Thursday.” Bottoms must be solid-colored, logo-free navy blue or khaki and may include tailored pants, capris, shorts, skorts, skirts, or jumpers. A solid-colored, logo-free navy or ‘flag’ red polo dress is also allowed.
Fit and Length Requirements: Bottoms must cover undergarments, be worn no lower than the natural waistline, and be of safe and appropriate length—not dragging on the floor or exposing the upper thighs. Shorts should be worn under dresses or jumpers but must not extend beyond the hemline.
Layering and Outerwear: Students may wear logo-free, solid-colored sweaters, sweatshirts (no hoods), and vests in red, white, or navy blue over standardized shirts. Turtlenecks or T-shirt-style undershirts in the same colors may be worn underneath. Isely spirit sweatshirts with hoods are allowed but must be worn with the hood down while inside the building.
Footwear and Accessories: Footwear must fit securely for safe movement throughout the school day, including during recess and PE. Crocs, platform shoes, wheeled shoes, high heels, open-toed shoes, and flip-flops are not allowed. Socks must be solid red, white, navy blue, or black. Hats, headscarves, and other head coverings are not permitted unless for religious or medical reasons. Makeup is not allowed for elementary students. Middle school students may wear makeup, but it must not be applied during instructional time or in a way that distracts or alarms others.
School Spirit and Exceptions: Isely spirit wear is permitted, and college shirts may be worn on Thursdays.
McCollom
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear plain polo shirts in red, navy, light blue, or white. Pants must be khaki or navy. Skirts and shorts must also be khaki or navy and meet length requirements. Sweaters must be plain and in standardized colors—red, navy, light blue, or white.Sweatshirts must be either McCollum-branded or in standardized colors and worn over a polo shirt. Large logos, pictures, or writing on clothing are not permitted.
Fit and Length Requirements: Skirts and shorts must pass mid-thigh.
Footwear and Accessories: Tights, leggings, and socks must be in solid red, navy, light blue, or white.
School Spirit and Exceptions: On Fridays, students may wear any McCollum T-shirt or a college shirt with blue denim jeans. Free dress days may be designated by the principal, and student attire on those days must still comply with district policy.
Minneha Core Knowledge Magnet
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored shirts in cardinal red, white, navy blue, or light blue. Shirts must have long or short sleeves (no sleeveless) and may not have logos larger than 1x1 inch, rips, holes, or drawings. Pants, tailored shorts, skorts, or jumpers must be navy blue or khaki. Uniform dresses must be solid in school colors. Leggings may only be worn under skirts, jumpers, or dresses and must be solid cardinal red, white, navy, or light blue.
Fit and Length Requirements: Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be longer than mid-thigh. Shorts worn under skirts or jumpers must not be visible beneath the hemline. Oversized, sagging, or extremely tight clothing is not allowed.
Layering and Outerwear: Sweaters, sweatshirts, and turtlenecks must be solid uniform colors. Undershirts must also be solid uniform colors. Sweaters, zip-up jackets, or sweatshirts in school colors may be worn in the classroom. Pull-over hoodies may not be worn in the classroom but are allowed during recess.

Themed shirts will be announced in newsletters or via ParentLink. On picture days, students may wear non-uniform clothing that still follows dress code guidelines.
Ortiz
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid/plain tops in navy blue, sky blue, white, or hunter green. Acceptable top styles include sweaters, sweatshirts, T-shirts, polo shirts, or lightweight jackets in those colors. Spaghetti straps are not allowed. Bottoms, dresses, and jumpers must be solid/plain khaki, navy blue, or black. Acceptable bottom styles include shorts, slacks, skirts, jumpers, skorts, capris, sweats, or leggings. Blue jeans and jeggings are not permitted. Logos must be no larger than a thumbprint.
Fit and Length Requirements: Pants must fit properly at the waist and length—sagging is not acceptable. Skirts, dresses, jumpers, and shorts must be longer than the midpoint between the student’s hip and knee.
Layering and Outerwear: Coats and non-uniform sweatshirts or jackets may not be worn in the classroom. Parents are encouraged to label coats, sweaters, and sweatshirts with the child’s name.
Footwear and Accessories: Shoes must be safe and suitable for student movement and physical activity. House shoes are not allowed. Hats may be worn outside during recess but must be removed when inside the building. Excessive accessories, writing on the body, or makeup that distract from the learning environment are also prohibited.
School Spirit and Exceptions: Ortiz school spirit T-shirts and sweatshirts are allowed. College shirts may be worn on Wednesdays as part of “College Wear Wednesday.”
Spaght Science/Communications Magnet
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored tops in navy blue, light blue, white, or orange. Collared shirts are preferred. Bottoms must be plain khaki or navy blue and may include shorts, slacks, skirts, jumpers, skorts, or capris. Spaght logo T-shirts and sweatshirts are allowed every day.
Fit and Length Requirements: All clothing must be clean, free of holes, and properly fitted. Pants must fit correctly at the waist—sagging is not acceptable. Shorts may be worn under jumpers or skirts.
Layering and Outerwear: Sweaters and sweatshirts without hoods may be worn in the classroom and must be in uniform colors.
Footwear and Accessories: Students must wear shoes that fit properly and are appropriate for physical movement. Proper winter attire, including coats, hats, and gloves, should be worn during colder months when students go outdoors.

All clothing must provide full coverage and be thick enough to prevent visibility of undergarments.

Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored tops and bottoms in maroon, navy, white, or tan. Logos, pictures, or writing on clothing are not permitted. All clothing must align with the school’s standardized color palette and maintain a clean, uniform appearance.
Fit and Length Requirements: Clothing must be properly sized to fit the student. Pants should not sag below the waist, shirts should not be excessively tight or baggy, and midriffs must be covered.
Mayberry
Mead
Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear tops in dark navy, white, or khaki. Acceptable styles include crewnecks, T-shirts, collared shirts, button-down shirts, and button sweaters. All tops must cover the entire torso and meet the beltline. Bottoms must be solid in color—dark navy or khaki—and may include pants, slacks, joggers, leggings with back pockets, or sweatpants. Logos, pictures, or writing on clothing are not permitted, and pajama clothing is not allowed. No spaghetti straps and all undergarments should be completely covered.
Layering and Outerwear: Hoodies, hats, jackets, coats, and gloves must be kept in student lockers during the school day.
Footwear and Accessories: Only closed-toe shoes are allowed and must be worn at all times. Shoes must provide adequate support and safety. House shoes, slippers, and slides are not permitted.
Pleasant Valley Middle
Color and Style Restrictions: All colors are accepted for tops and bottoms. Logos, pictures, or writing on clothing are permitted as long as they do not reference profanity, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, weapons, violence, abuse, suggestive or sexual messages, or hate speech. Tops must cover the majority of the back and shoulders, the midriff and back when sitting or standing, and be thick enough to prevent visibility of undergarments. Shirts must have sleeves that extend over the shoulder. Crop tops and tank tops are not allowed. Heavy winter coats must be stored in lockers during the school day. Sweatshirts, hoodies, sweaters, and light jackets may be worn during the day.
Fit and Length Requirements: All clothing must be properly sized and not overly revealing or excessively tight. Bottoms must cover undergarments at all times. Sagging is not allowed. Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be long enough to maintain personal privacy and comfort in all settings, using midway between the knee and hip as a guide. Holes in jeans are allowed only if they do not expose the upper thigh. Leggings or shorts may be worn under other garments for added coverage.
Footwear and Accessories: Shoes must be worn at all times, fit securely, and have a hard or rubber sole. High heels that pose a safety concern are not allowed. Jewelry, piercings, colognes, perfumes, and accessories must not have an overwhelming fragrance or include parts that could serve as weapons.
School Spirit and Exceptions: Free dress days may be planned by PVMS administrators as incentives, rewards, or for spirit weeks and fundraisers. Student attire on these days must still comply with district policy. Hats are prohibited, and items that conceal identity such as ski masks or balaclavas are not allowed. Hoods may not be worn on the head inside the building. Religious headgear is permitted, and hair accessories are allowed only to support specific hairstyles.
