South High School
The 2000 bond project is the oldest bond project that added equipment still in use today. This bond project focused on the original north wings of the school. The wings on the existing drawings are labeled wings A-L and correspond to halls A through J on the current South High hall and room numbering layout. The music rooms in hall A were added after the 2000 bond project. The 2008 bond project as-builts are stamped as 2011 additions and renovations and this project added hall T (wings N, P, Q) to the
south and hall A east music rooms (wing M). This work completed the footprint of the school as it is today. This bond project also added Sandifer TAC controls to the entire building and included minor renovations to halls A, F, H, and J.

South High has significant opportunities for energy and operational savings. The graph above shows the baseline utility cost and projected future utility expenditure if energy conservation measures, as identified by Navitas' preliminary site audits, are implemented. Currently, this building spends approximately $465,493 annually (Baseline) on electricity and gas, with a baseline energy usage index (EUI) of 66.9. A building with similar systems and operations can have variable energy usage when efficiency measures are upgraded, depending on the occupancy load. The energy usage index can range between 40–55 EUI. The projected numbers are based on conservative efforts and reflect the district reducing the energy usage index to 55, which would result in total utility dollar savings of approximately $1,590,000 in energy costs over 15 years. This does not include additional operational dollar savings that would be achieved by implementing newer, more efficient systems.
