Digital Citizenship at Wichita Public Schools

Teacher and Students using iPads

At Wichita Public Schools, we understand that digital citizenship is a critical component of preparing students for college, careers, and beyond. We proudly work alongside our Library Media Services team to provide age-appropriate digital citizenship lessons using resources from Common Sense Media and other trusted sources. These lessons empower students to navigate the digital world safely, responsibly, and ethically. Our dedicated librarians lead the way, following a carefully designed scope and sequence to ensure that digital citizenship education is integrated at every grade level. We also encourage teachers to embrace "teachable digital citizenship moments" during their daily lessons, fostering a culture of continuous learning about online safety and responsibility.
