The Wichita Public Schools will participate in the annual United Methodist Open Door Turkey Drive on Friday, November 22. The WaterWalk, 515 N. Main, will be the drop off site from 7 – 11 a.m.
Principals, staff and parents are encouraged to nominate outstanding educators for the 2020 Distinguished Classroom Teacher Awards. The deadline for hand-delivered nominations is December 6 at 12 p.m. and deadline for mailed nominations is December 5.

Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson is making monthly stops around the district in the Strat Plan Van to visit employees who are championing our Strategic Plan. This month, she visited the technology teachers at Wilbur Middle School to see how their work empowers students to be Future Ready.
Nearly 100 students representing every high school met with Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson to share their opinions on attendance and absenteeism.
The program has earned a prestigious endorsement from the Parents as Teachers National Center, Inc. as a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, making it one of the top-performing home visiting affiliates within the PATNC’s international network.

The application must be signed by your parent and Ms. Paschal in the CCC before turning in to Mr. Cathey. The completed application is required if you wish to drop second semester classes. Attention students and staff. By now, you should have received your picture packets from picture day back in September. Because of the new digital system, Lifetouch experienced some problems fulfilling some of the orders and there were a few misidentified packets as well. If you had your pictures taken, but did not receive your proofs or a packet that you ordered, see Ms. Gray in H7. Faculty and staff, if you took your picture but did not receive your complimentary packet, please email Ms. Gray ASAP.
Retakes will be next Monday, November 18 from noon to 2 p.m. Students, if you plan to come during your 7th hour, you need to sign up with Ms. Gray for a time. Faculty and staff, if you haven’t taken your picture yet, please consider coming to the auditorium during lunch that day.
JUNIORS – Don’t miss the opportunity to take the ACT &/or ACT WorkKeys for FREE this February! The ACT will be offered Tuesday, February 25th & the ACT WorkKeys on Wednesday, February 25th. Look for information fliers posted around the school. Sign-ups will take place next week in your Social Studies class.
