Notification of Closings or Delays

Families and staff will be notified through our automatic phone/email/text system in the event there is a district-wide school closure or building-specific emergency. 

Parents: Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date in ParentVue, the district's student information system, in order to receive notifications.

Staff: Employees should make sure their primary and secondary contact numbers are current in PeopleSoft in order to receive emergency phone calls. Staff e-mail updates are delivered through Outlook.  

Notifications of weather closings or delays will be shared on Wichita Public Schools social media channels.

Notifications will be posted on WPS-TV on the district's website and on Cox cable channel 20.

Download the Wichita Public School's mobile app for iPhone or Android, set your preference so you receive district notifications (as well as any school-specific news you are interested in), and you will have emergency announcements sent directly to your smartphone.

Information will be broadcast and shared through news outlets and social media channels. Tune into your favorite local radio or television station for additional information.
