  • Virtual Career Fair

     

    Hello Heights students! Unfortunatley due to COVID-19, we were unable to have our traditional Career Fair in the gym lobby. However, we will have one online! On this page, I am posting all the materials and information from all the businesses/organizations that were intialy going to attend the Career Fair. Click on the links to view each organization's flyers and websites. This website will be updated often.

  • Attention all Heights students,


    Mr. Ghitis has created a "Team" on Microsoft Teams for every student class at Heights. Microsoft Teams allows you to have video and voice conferencing as well as allowing you to interact with other students all in one platform! Moreover, it allows you to chat with Mr. Ghitis so he can answer your questions right away. Instructions for logging into Teams are can be found here.

    If you would like to join the College and Career Center-Senior Teams class, login to Teams (see above), click "Join or create team" and join the class team with the following code:

  • Scholarship List Updated!

    Seniors, the CCC Scholarship List has been updated with revised due dates for the rest of the school year. Popular scholarships with updated due dates include the Friends STEM Promise, Rotary Club, and Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships! It also includes one newly added scholarship:

    • Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Association (KCCEOA) Scholarship You must plan to major in Journalism, Political Science, Business, or Communications to apply for this scholarship. Additionally, you must have a 3.0+ GPA and plan to attend a Kansas college.
      • Deadline: March 30, 2020
      • Award Amount: $500

  • Attention All Heights Parents:

     

    Heights students will now have access to a FREE ACT Prep Class through Edgenuity, USD 259’s provider of K-12 online education. All students grades 9-12 will have access to this free course through their Single-Sign On-Rapid ID portal.  In order to use this class, your student will need to meet with the College and Career Coordinator, Mr. Ghitis, to be enrolled in this online class. This class is not for a grade and cannot be used to earn credit. Tell your student to meet with Mr. Ghitis to start preparing for the ACT today!

  • Students, are you interested in FREE ACT prep? If so, check out Sylvan Learning Center! Sylvan Learning Center offeres the following free resources to students:

     

    FREE Practice ACT. 

    FREE Presentation in ACT test-taking tips.

    FREE Advanced Reading Skills Diagnostic assessment.

    • This assessment is a great diagnostic tool to help students who have difficulty finishing the ACT on time.

    FREE Diagnostic days at the center.

    • Sylvan has regularly scheduled diagnostic assessments at the center that can help students understand their scores and find out the root causes and how to better prepare for the ACT.
