Senior Spotlight — Taylor Bailey, Northeast Magnet
Senior Spotlight — Taylor Bailey
Taylor Bailey wants to study psychology to help people understand why they think and act the way they do. She dreams of having a successful career and a lovely home. However, it wasn't always like that. When she began her journey through Northeast Magnet, Taylor didn't even imagine graduating from high school. Now she does it ahead of time and plans to attend Kansas City Kansas Community College.
"At the beginning, I was struggling a lot, and I didn't care, then I learned that if I take my time to learn how things work, I can understand them better and be successful," said Bailey. "Northeast was a very positive experience, and I am glad that I went there."
Remote learning was a great tool to achieve her goals because she could take her time to understand what she was studying. One of the things she has learned during her time at Northeast is to not procrastinate and to always ask for help.
Taylor was able to graduate from high school in January.
"I never thought I could graduate early; it was something I wanted, but didn't know I could," Bailey said.
"I think more students should go to Northeast. Even if you don't have friends, there are always people wanting to be helpful and make everyone feel comfortable," said Bailey about her experience.
If I could advise the next generation of students in Northeast, Taylor would tell them to "always do your best, don't give up, even if you want to stop sometimes, keep trying."
In addition to psychology, she would also like to become a teacher to inspire other students as her teachers have inspired her.
