Three seniors named finalists for WSU’s Gore Memorial Scholarship

Wichita Public Schools logo Three Wichita Public Schools seniors are among the 11 finalists for Wichita State University’s Distinguished Scholarship Invitational, with an opportunity to compete for the Harry Gore Memorial $64,000 scholarship, one of the largest undergraduate scholarships in Kansas.

 The WPS finalists are:

  • Rija Nazir, Wichita Northeast Magnet
  • Shabri Pelia, Wichita East High School
  • Daegiona Wilson, Wichita South High School

Students who were invited to compete in WSU’s Distinguished Scholarship Invitational students had to have a 27 or higher ACT score, or a 3.5 or higher GPA, or rank in the top 10 percent of their class. The 11 finalists this year have an average ACT score of 27 and average GPA of 3.80.

The three students selected as recipients of the Gore scholarship will be announced on January 25. All finalists will receive competitive scholarships to attend WSU.
