WPS staff members receive National Board Certification

National Board Two Wichita Public Schools staff have earned the profession's top honor of National Board Certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. National Board Certification is a voluntary assessment program designed to recognize and reward great teachers and is the most prestigious credential a teacher or administrator can earn.

Benjamin Stauble, a special education teacher at Mueller Aerospace and Engineering Discovery Magnet Elementary School, and Cody Dickman, a counselor at South High School, received National Board Certification for 2020.

National Board Certification is achieved through a rigorous performance-based assessment that takes a year to three years to complete. Teachers document their knowledge of the subject matter, show evidence they know how to teach students effectively and show their ability to measure student learning. More information on National Board Certification can be found at www.nbpts.org.
