Senior Spotlight - Jada Hall, Southeast High School

Southeast High School senior Jayda HallJada Hall, a senior at Southeast High School, has been actively involved in her school all four years. This year, she serves as student body Vice President. She volunteers for school and community events, and spends a lot of her time as a student coach and freshmen mentor.

“I love to help students who are younger than me. I want them to succeed,” she said.

As a student coach, Jada attends an Algebra I and history class with other students and provides them additional help if they need it.

As a mentor, she helps students develop goals, either academic or life goals. She meets weekly with her mentees to make sure their goals are being met.

“I didn’t have leaders in my life growing up but myself. I knew I didn’t want to go down the wrong path,” Jada said. “I want to help others who feel like they don’t have anyone they can talk to.  There may be some that aren’t comfortable talking to a teacher, but they are comfortable talking to a peer.  If I can be the person that helps the next person get to where they’re going, it warms my heart.”

She wants to continue being a mentor when she’s in college and as an adult.

Next year, she will attend Wichita State majoring in health science. Her goal is to be a pediatric physical therapist.
