Need free transportation to school to get your free student lunch?
If you need free transportation to access the USD 259 free meals, the City of Wichita’s Covid 19 website offers this information that we can share with families:
Wichita Transit is offering free transportation to any Wichita Public Schools student and their accompanying parent/guardian on any regular city route to and from one of the school meal location sites between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday. When getting on the bus, students should show their WPS school ID or another form of student documentation. For assistance planning your route, click the link below.
Wichita Transit has said that the city bus is NOT asking for student IDs between 10-2 if students are getting on to ride to meal sites. They are taking their word for it (as long as they are riding between 10-2 and going to a meal site).
