Aimee Hampel, a first-grade teacher at College Hill Elementary School, was surprised in her classroom with the Golden Apple Award from KAKE-TV. She was nominated for the award by the parents of one of her students who said Hampel makes sure every student feels loved and that the way she teaches students is amazing.
“I love working as a team with the parents and it’s important that the kids can learn and feel safe at school,” Hampel said.
The Golden Apple Award winners receive a Golden Apple trophy from Davis-Moore Autogroup and $1,000 in school supplies from Project Teacher.
The winner is featured on KAKE-TV’s Monday 5 p.m. newscast.
