Jordyn Chadd, a senior at Wichita Alternative High School, said it feels amazing to be finished with high school.
“I always had doubt in myself, but the staff at Chester Lewis believed in me,” Jordyn said.
She came to Wichita Alternative her junior year after feeling she wasn’t successful at another high school. Her older siblings had attended Wichita Alternative and recommended it to her.
“I finally felt that I was getting the help I needed and was being heard. I was able to earn all my credits and finish high school early,” Jordyn said.
She said Ryan Anderson, her business teacher, was someone who had a huge positive impact on her. He passed away earlier in the school year and she still gets emotional when thinking about him.
“He always went above and beyond to encourage me and to help me be successful. I always felt like I wasn’t capable of graduating, but here I am,” Jordan said.
Jordyn will attend Wichita State in the fall to major in business. She would like to become a realtor.
