Senior Spotlight - Leah Haruni, Education Imagine Academy

Education Imagine Academy senior Leah HarumiLeah Haruni, senior at Education Imagine Academy, moved to the United States from Tanzania when she was ten years old. When she was thirteen, her family moved from Texas to Wichita.

She likes Education Imagine Academy because it has both online and in-person classes.

"When we meet in person, they make things easy to understand and fun," she said.

"All of them teach in different ways and have their own stories. When they share their stories, they help us learn better," Leah says.

She also likes having one-on-one meetings with her teachers to get the academic support she needs to be successful.

Leah enjoys being in clubs, especially the music and baking clubs. She has taught her friends and teachers how to make African food and shares her culture with them.

One of Leah's best memories is when they decorated a room for a birthday party. She had a lot of fun that day.

Leah wants to go to college and become a nurse. She hopes to help patients who speak Swahili, like she does.
