District leadership seeks students’ opinions about being future ready

Deputy Superintendent Gil Alvarez and district leadership will meet with more than 100 high school students to ask for their opinions about opportunities at school that help them be successful after graduation on Wednesday, November 2, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the School Service Center, 3850 N. Hydraulic.

The students will discuss in small groups about opportunities at their school that help them prepare for the future, like Graduation+ and how students earn Market Value Assets. The students will also share how WPS can better inform and engage students to make them aware of those opportunities.

The students will share out what they discussed in their groups with Mr. Alvarez and district leadership.

The students involved in the Superintendent Dialogue Session are members of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SuperSAC) and other students invited to participate or who were recommended by their school’s principal. Many of the suggestions from previous dialogue sessions have shaped district policies and practices, and created programs currently being used in the district’s high schools.
