Bev Wilson, a fourth-grade teacher at Earhart Environmental Magnet Elementary School, was recently surprised in her classroom with the Golden Apple Award from KAKE-TV. She was nominated for the award by a former student.
“Just to be nominated and receive this award is a great honor,” said Wilson. “Being a teacher is the best job out there. Being nominated by a former student really makes me feel appreciated.”
The Golden Apple Award winners receive a Golden Apple trophy from Davis-Moore Autogroup and Meritrust Credit Union and $1,000 in school supplies from Project Teacher. The winner is featured on KAKE-TV’s Monday 5 p.m. newscast.
