WPS offering COVID-19 tests for symptomatic and asymptomatic employees

WPS is offering COVID-19 tests for employees and their families who are showing signs of COVID-19 (symptomatic) and those who are not (asymptomatic). Both tests are free and offer quick results.

Saliva testing for asymptomatic employees clinics on Saturdays in January

WPS is offering COVID-19 saliva PCR tests to asymptomatic employees and family members living in the home through a partnership with Wichita State’s Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory.  Test results will be processed in one to two days. The tests are also for employees who are in quarantine and wish to modify their quarantine period. Click here for a fact sheet.

There will be three Saturday COVID Testing Clinics on January 9, 16 and 23 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Alvin Morris Administrative Center, 903 S. Edgemoor.

Employees can’t take the saliva test if they have had anything to eat or drink (including gum and candy), used tobacco or vape products or brushed their teeth less than 30 minutes prior to the test.

Rapid Antigen Testing for symptomatic employees

WPS is one of 12 school districts in Kansas selected by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to be part of a statewide pilot for rapid antigen testing. Click here for a fact sheet for details. Employees will receive results within 30 minutes.

If you are experiencing COVID symptoms, please call (316) 469-3595. The support nurse on call will initiate the screening questionnaire, and if you qualify, will schedule your no-cost test through the drive-up testing location at AMAC.
