BOE votes to extend Fall Break to encompass November 23 – 27

During the November 16 meeting, the Board of Education voted to extend Fall Break to encompass the entire week of November 23 -27.  This will allow all students and employees (schools and non-attendance centers) to have an extended break due to the impact of COVID-19 cases on the district. Students and staff will return on Monday, November 30.

“I ask everyone to please take this opportunity to follow public health and safety guidelines,” said Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson. “Make the difficult decision to stay home and not travel, and to stay home and not attend large group gatherings. Please follow the Center for Disease Control’s Thanksgiving Guidelines.”

If we follow those guidelines, it will help our community and our schools. We need ALL of our students and staff back and healthy in order to provide the best-possible learning and working experiences for our students and our staff,” she added.
