Technology help for families new to remote learning

In order to provide extra support for families as elementary students pivot to remote learning, WPS is opening three Family Help Centers as part of its Future Ready Return to School Plan.

The WPS Family Help Centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – noon and 1-5 p.m. starting Wednesday, Dec. 2, at three locations: 

  • North High School, 1437 Rochester
  • South High School, 701 W. 33rd S.
  • Alvin Morris Administrative Center, 903 S. Edgemoor

 

The centers will be open through Dec. 18, then will resume operation on Monday, Jan. 4.

The Family Help Centers will provide in-person support for families including:

 Technology Support

  • Help with district-provided technology (no technology distribution will occur)
  • Tutorial help for Microsoft Teams and SeeSaw

Bi-lingual language support

  • Spanish interpreters available to answer questions at North High School and South High School.

 

Families from across the district can come to the centers to receive support. Masks and social distancing are required.

Families are also welcome to contact the district’s Help Desk phone line Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., at 973-4357 (HELP).
