Good morning colleagues,

It is my honor and pleasure to let you know that after a competitive interview process, Amanda Kingrey has been selected to serve as our next assistant superintendent for secondary schools. She will begin her work immediately, with her first order of business being to select a new executive director to fill her previous position.

Amanda has 24 years of experience and accomplishments as an educator in the Wichita Public Schools. She is WPSProud through-and-through, and her passion and success as a teacher, building administrator and district leader make her an ideal candidate for this important work. Amanda has proven her ability to create and monitor policies and practices that support student learning and academic growth, and she is student focused! She is also a terrific coach, which will allow her to continue our important central office work to support building leaders and teachers as we empower and inspire our students to achieve success.

Please join me in welcoming Amanda as our new assistant superintendent of secondary schools!

Regards,

Gil Alvarez
Deputy Superintendent
