Nominate a Wichita Public Schools employee for the Excellence in Public Service Award

Employees and residents are encouraged to nominate public service employees for the annual Excellence in Public Service Award. Now in its 33rd year, the award recognizes employees from the City of Wichita, Sedgwick County and Wichita Public Schools who exhibit the highest standard of service on the job and through their volunteerism. The nomination deadline is Feb. 26.

Two ways to enter (select one; duplicate entries do not increase your chances of selection – it is based on the completeness of the entry)

  2. Complete the nomination form and submit it by one of the following:

    • Mail or hand deliver to the WPS Strategic Communications office, Alvin E. Morris Administrative Center, 903 S. Edgemoor, Wichita KS

This award program, sponsored by the DeVore Foundation and KSN, recognizes outstanding employees in public service who demonstrate a combination of the following attributes:

  • Exemplary performance that has contributed to the public interest.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills that have improved service delivery.
  • Adherence to high ethical standards in carrying out job responsibilities, and
  • A record of community involvement through participation in civic organizations.
  • Significant contribution toward COVID-19 response in the workplace or community.

The winners will each receive $2,500 and be honored at a reception.
