More than 300 employees, representing 71 schools and support centers were surprised with awards during Good Apple Week beginning on April 12.
Due to the pandemic, the Board of Education was not able to host a ceremony to publicly thank and recognize this fall’s outstanding award recipients. Instead, principals surprised their honorees and shared their pictures and contributions on social media using the hashtag WPSProud during Good Apple Week.
The Good Apple Awards program allows schools and administrative support centers to recognize employees, volunteers and school partners who go the extra mile to provide exemplary service to the district and its students. This fall, the Board celebrated the work of only WPS employees because volunteers and partners were not able to enter district buildings and engage with students.
