WPS Nutrition Services announces new programs, menu items

YumYummi digital school lunch menu Wichita Public Schools Nutrition Services department announced new programs and menu items for the 2019-2020 school year.

Among the new offerings this year:

  • Titan Parent Portal which parents can use to apply for meal benefits, make online meal payments, and to monitor and regulate student’s spending. Learn more at
  • YumYummi digital school lunch menus. Parents and students can log on via desktop or cell phone app to see daily, weekly or monthly menus. You can see photos of the food, nutritional information and allergens. To learn more, go to
  • Photo menu boards in elementary school cafeterias
  • Expansion of the second-chance breakfast program in middle and high school. New sites are Northwest and Heights high schools and Curtis Middle School. The program lets kids grab breakfast between classes. Learn more about this award-winning program at
  • The Breakfast After the Bell program will launch in elementary schools this year so students who arrive late get a chance to eat breakfast without missing class
  • New menu items at middle and high schools: We’re adding an egg bake and sausage rolls as well as a Korean BBQ beef entrée. There will also be eight grab-and-go entrée items including a yogurt parfait and almond protein pack.
  • New menu items at elementary schools: We’re adding oven-baked, breaded chicken legs, fish sticks and an almond and sunflower protein pack to the menu.
  • Lasagna will be added to the menu for all schools this year and will be served once at each school. Depending on its success, it may be added to the menu more often.

The new menu items were based on feedback gathered last spring from student focus groups.
