BOE approves 2023-24 school year calendar

The Board of Education approved the 2023-24 school year calendar during its January 23, 2023 meeting. The first day of school for all students is August 15, 2023, with orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade on August 14. The last day of school is May 23, 2024.  New for the 23-24 school year, all schools will have Parent-Teacher Conferences on the same dates, which includes no school for October 12 and February 15.

Some key dates on the 2023-24 calendar include:

• Enrollment: July 25 – 26
• Orientation for new teachers: August 1 – 2
• Inservice for all teachers: August 3 – 14
• Orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade students: August 14
• First day of school: August 15
• Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences – October 10 – 12. Evening conferences October 10 –11; all day conferences October 12 (no school)
• Fall recess: November 23 - 24
• Student Winter Recess: December 18 – January 2; Administrative Winter Recess December 22 – January 1
• Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences – February 13 – 15. Evening conferences February 13 – 14; all day conferences February 15 (no school)
• Spring recess: March 11 – 15
• Last day of school: May 23
