WPS art students receive national accolades

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Seven WPS high school and middle school students have received gold and silver medals from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

The gold medal winners represent the top 1 percent in the nation based on innovative thought and technical competence. National Gold Medals are announced in the spring so artists can prep their work for the national exhibition that typically is held in New York City with an awards banquet at Carnegie Hall.  Due to the COVID-19 crisis this year, the nation’s most creative teens will be recognized during a virtual ceremony at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 4. The broadcast can be accessed at artandwriting.org.
