Senior Spotlight — Salatiel Esparza

Salatiel Esparza, Levy Special Education CenterSalatiel Esparza has been a student at Levy Special Education Center for four years and is a staff favorite.

“He comes to school and happily greets students and staff,” said Denise Chichester, an applied academics teacher at Levy. “He always likes to ask ‘What did you do last night?’ It’s one of many things we will miss about him.”

When asked what he enjoyed most during his time at Levy, Esparza said he really liked his specials classes.

“I like PE, life skills, career readiness and art,” said Esparza.

During his first two years, Esparza served as the team manager for the Levy Legends basketball team. When he’s at home, he likes to play board games and watch movies.

“I like playing board games and to play with my wrestling action figures,” said Esparza. “I also like horror movies like Halloween and Friday the 13h and crime shows.”

After graduation, Esparza plans to attend a day program where he would like to make new friends and find a job where he could help others.
