Yes, all students, including incoming freshmen, are required to read two or three assigned texts (depending on their grade level). Upon returning to school in the fall, students will be expected to participate in class discussions and complete written assignments in their English classes based on the assigned reading. Students will be provided with specific information on the reading required for their grade level at the end of each spring semester.  Eighth grade students who will be entering as freshman will receive information detailing their assigned summer reading prior to the end of May.
