Mental Health Matters!

National Random Acts of Kindness Day
National Random Acts of Kindness Day is February 17th. This movement once started over 40 years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area. The first nation-wide Random Acts of Kindness Day took place in February 1995.
There are scientific benefits of choosing kindness. When we see others acts of kindness, our bodies produce higher levels of oxytocin, which can help lower blood pressure, improve overall heart-health, and increase self-esteem and optimism. Individuals who consistently perform acts of kindness, have 23% less cortisol (the stress hormone).
