Transportation

The Wichita Public Schools Transportation Department oversees the safe daily transportation of eligible students to and from school. Approximately 35% of Wichita Public Schools students qualify for transportation services.

Students may be transported if they live 2.5 miles or more from their assigned school or if they are a Special Education student with Transportation as a related service on an IEP.   Eligibility for transportation services are outlined in Board of Education Policy P7300, found here. WebQuery will show residence’s neighborhood school and if the student is eligible to receive bus transportation.  

Transportation is provided in the most efficient manner possible. 

Who transports Students?

Wichita Public Schools contracts for transportation services with First Student, EverDriven, and Wichita Transit. 

In partnership with First Student, we have a bus tracking app for families called FirstView 1.0 which helps track your student's bus in real time. 

Download the App through Google Play or the Apple App Store by searching “FirstView 1.0” or clicking the link below. 

When setting up the App, you will be prompted to enter the district code. Contact your school or the Transportation Department at 316-973-2190 for assistance with accessing your code.
